A training session for introducing Competency Based Education was organised on Thursday, February 23, 2023. The speaker, Mr Joji Jacob, Mentor of Change, Atal Innovation Mission, gave an insight on how to incorporate Competency Based Education, which is an important component of National Education Policy 2020.

He emphasized that competency based learning begins by identifying specific competencies or skill and enables learners to develop mastery of each competency or skill. Competency Based Education (CBE) is the strategy of teaching, grading and reporting students based on their ability to demonstrate specific skills throughout their learning process. It focuses on learning outcomes where the students will be given a set of competencies they need to master and will be informed about how these competencies are expected to be demonstrated for assessment, which allows students to set learning goals for themselves.

Given students the need to demonstrate their competencies through action, Competency Based Education provides a smooth transition from their world of education to their work place.
